5 essentials for caring for your skin this Summer

Today I want to remind you that caring for your skin and body isn’t just about the monthly visit you make to the Med Spa; it’s also in your hands, especially in a summer as intense and enduring as Miami’s, where the days lengthen and the sun’s rays intensify.

What I’m about to mention is not new, but I’ve always considered that repeating and remembering it is important.

So, here are the 5 care essentials that I consider crucial for this and any other summer.


Not only does it help keep your organs hydrated, but also your skin and keeps the digestive system active. So if you tend to retain water, check your hydration and you’ll see the change.

This aspect is very important at this time of year since the loss of body water through sweating is much greater than in other months. We generally recommend drinking between 1.5 and 2 liters (unless there is a medical restriction), equivalent to 6, 8, or 10 glasses depending on the size of the container we use, and it can be in the form of water, cold infusions, juices, smoothies, etc.

Just keep in mind that some of the proposals also provide energy so, although we can vary, remembering that water is the best option to hydrate ourselves, especially in summer.

Skin cleansing and preparation:

Upon waking up and before bed, a cleansing and hydration routine is very important to maintain healthy skin. Your routine is key, combined with your visit to the cabin, for your hydration with vitamins or rejuvenation plan.

Daily sunscreen protection:

Miami’s sun is unforgiving, so try to avoid direct exposure to it as much as possible, and if you do, avoid midday hours. Remember to apply sunscreen in the morning routine and touch up at least twice during the day.

Balanced diet:

These days, we’re more relaxed and neglect healthy habits, bringing consequences to the skin and body. Consuming seasonal fruits and vegetables will provide significant benefits, vitamins, and minerals, counteracting excesses.

Physical activity:

The important thing at the end of the day is to keep moving, so if you “don’t have time to exercise” try at least to incorporate movement by taking the stairs at the office or walking when you’re on the phone instead of sitting.
